The island of Vis is connected to Split with a ferry and catamaran lines. The journey with a ferry from Split to the island of Vis is 2 hours and 15 minutes (it is also possible to board with your own vehicle), while the journey with a catamaran is one hour and 20 minutes (it is not possible to board with your own vehicle).
The ferry and catamaran lines between Split and Vis during the summer months are very frequent. You can book your tickets online or purchase them at the ferryboat port either in Split or at the island, right before your journey. As the ferry or catamaran arrives in the island port, in case you are without your own vehicle, a bus will be waiting for you at the ferry port which will leave for Komiža immediately. Also, at the ferryboat port there are many taxi's available. The town of Komiža and the Katina apartments are 10 km away from Vis.
